1919:
David Barth and Bernard Gross join to establish the Barth-Gross
Electric Company in Long Island City, focusing on motor repair
and installation.
1930:
Company relocates to 110 West 26th Street where it is still
based today.
1948:
David's son, Stanley, joins the company full-time.
1957:
Barth-Gross named one of two electrical contractors for construction
of the Tishman Building at 666 Fifth Avenue.
1975:
Stanley's son, Roy, joins the company after earning a Masters
degree in electrical engineering.
1980s:
Barth-Gross becomes the first electrical contractor in New York City to hold more than
one license.
1985:
Company does some of the first fiber-optic installations
at locations including JFK airport, Union Carbide
and Johnson & Johnson.
1995:
Company is selected to build and install antennas
for New York City's 911 system located atop Brooklyn's
Metro Tech Center.
2000:
Client services are expanded to include more technology based
installations. Some of the most well known firms tap Barth-Gross
to install energy saving Building Management Systems and
telephone, data and security systems.
2004:
Barth-Gross installs updated security systems at the landmark
Empire State Building.
